The Internship That Brings New Experience, Friends, and Knowledge

Gaining practical knowledge was the main idea of BLP’s internship program. But as the participants blend with the people they work with, new friendships were also developed and new experiences shared. The participants stated that beyond knowledge, they also enjoy the experience of gaining new friends and family. The organizations they worked for consisted of warm, nice and friendly people. They welcome the participants with such enthusiasm which makes them feels home. Therefore although they were far from home, by being surrounded with humble people, not once have they felt like a stranger. Beside practical knowledge, the internship has also given the opportunity to meet new inspiring people and build network, moreover friendship.

Green Economy and Climate Negotiation: it’s not only about power and money; it is about surviving our life and the life

The discourse on green economy had sprung over the past few years. It is expected that the concept would bring new hope in shaping the world’s economy in time of climate change. LEAD Indonesia believes that the Green Economy can become the key role to reduce the impact of climate change and maintain sustainable development. Greening the economy refers to the process of reconfiguring businesses and infrastructure to deliver better returns on natural, human and economic capital investments. While at the same time the effort will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, extract and use fewer natural resources, create less waste and reduce social disparities.

BLP Participants were overwhelmed to see the world 60 years from now

The second badge of the four BLP training sessions started in December 28th up to 31st 2009. The second training for the second badge divided into three sessions.. The first session was held from 28-31 December 2009 in Pidie. The main object of the training is the comprehension the concepts of sustainability and sustainable development for the participants. Moreover, participants were expected to 1) understand the role and mechanism of eco system to support sustainable development,  2) learn from the past (history), 3)  anticipate the implications of existing actions (long time perspective),  4) visioning the future  for generations to come,  5) and have the ability to develop the sustainabilitystrategy of their area.
