The Graduation, Not The Goodbye (The Final Training of BLP 2009-2010)
One year has passed. The final training of Bridging Leadership Program 2009-2010 has been completed. The training is the second batch of Bridging Leadership program (BLP), a-three years (2008-2011) activities to develop the future leaders of Aceh. Supported by LEAD International. The last session of BLP training this year took place in Banda Aceh from 8th - 12th May 2010. Through the whole series of the training since last year, the participants have shown high interest and participation throughout the sessions.

On Tuesday (27/04/2010) the Obama’s administration held The Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington DC. By holding the summit Obama wishes to fulfill the commitment he made when he visited Cairo over a year ago. The objective of the summit is to deepen ties between business leaders, foundations, and social entrepreneurs in the United States and Muslim-majority countries (MMC), including their minority populations, and Muslim communities around the world.

The Winner of Architecture Design Contest 2010 by Bandung Institute of Technology
Congratulations to LEAD Indonesia Fellow Cohort 10, Tiyok Prasetyoadi assisted by a team, as the winner of Sayembara Disain Arsitek (Architecture Design Contest), an architecture competition carried out by Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Tiyok received the award for his design which represents the concepts of green building. The green building concept sets out the efficiency of using energy, water, and other resources, the reduction of waste, pollution and environmental degradation, also protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity.

Congratulations to Nenny Babo for The 2009 Senior Research Award
Congratulations to LEAD Indonesia Fellow Cohort 8, Nenny Babo as The 2009 Senior Research Award winner from Indonesia. Ms. Babo received the award for her works which have made significant contributions to research activities, particularly in the conservation area and the study of primatology in Sulawesi. Her dedication has inspired many, as she takes “non mainstream” career path, but extremely useful as Indonesia is one of a few countries with endemic primate species. She has shown the leadership to conserve the world’s endanger biodiversity. We wish her more success for years to come.
